Fountain Head By Ayn Rand: Feed me more-A book written ahead of times

I downloaded a movie called The Fountain in year 2007 and thought this is made on movie Fountain Head. I watched a particular intimate scene in nit for 4 to 5 time and then it was part of history. After 5 years I ordered the Ayn Rand book set( Fountain Head and Atlas Shrugged) online and to my amazement it was delivered free of cost to me. ( reason classified , you have to sign a NDA to get the lid opened :D) . My friend ravpreet and Jitendar told me to read this book as this is mind boggling and boond faad and I started reading it. It has three or four main characters Howard Roark(Protagonist, iconoclast architect ) , Peter Keating(Corporate Slut), Toohey ( Mind game specialist), Dominique Francon( Hot chick , beauty with brains) and Gail Wyand (reminds you of willain in Hindi movies who turn good after some time). All of these characters are splendid and while I was reading it I found I had a shade of all these characters in my personality. The more I would like to be like Ro

PepsiCo: Memoir of summer training assault, faults and funny vaults

It was year2010. The time was of summer internship placements for our MBA batch. I was reluctant to Join any the corporate rut but as luck had it I applied for it. If my memory serves right it was stated by a rigorous pseudo intellectual rounds at campus then followed by couple of same boring weasel rounds in Gurgaon. The best part was we went from college to PesiCo office in cab. There were around ten people ( No pretty Chick L ). We left in night from Chandigarh , I was excited that a very pretty so called “Placement Coordinator” of our college will meet us in Gurgaon. I am an optimist to the core!!. We reached Gurgaon, I took the eye candy , said something doesn’t makes any sense in the interview to weasels and by error were selected for summer training for Pepsico which I never knew will turn into memoir of assaults, faults and a memoir of  funny vaults.   Selected weasels from our college were three baboons.  Bhupinder Singh , our turbanator whose mother tongue is Engli

Burning heart Two worlds collide, rival nations It's a primitive clash, venting years of frustrations Bravely we hope against all hope, there is so much at stake Seems our freedom's up against the ropes Does the crowd understand? Is it a East vs. West, or man against man Can any nation stand alone? In the burning heart, just about to burst There's a quest for answers, an unquenchable thirst In the darkest night, rising like a spire In the burning heart, the unmistakable fire, in the burning heart In the warrior's code, there's no surrender Though his body says stop, his spirit cries never Deep in our soul a quiet ember Knows it's you against you the paradox that drives us on It's a battle of wills, in the heat of attack It's the passion that kills The victory is yours alone In the burning heart, just about to burst There's a quest for answers, an unquenchable thirst In the darkest night, rising like a spire In the burni

Poor Little Rich Slum—Rashmi Bansal: No Silicon Valley, No Princeton University its all About Dharavi my friend

Dharavi is a cauldron bubbling with enterprise, with a never-say-die attitude. With spirit and spunk ” I have been in exile for quite a long time. One day I suddenly watched amazing blog of my friend Jimmy Jay @ http://personalstreet.blogspot.in/ and thought I should also pen down something.  Recently I brought the fourth book written by “Rashmi Bansal” (https://twitter.com/rashmibansal )Poor Little Rich Slum. I ordered the book along with biography of Fauja Singh at dirt cheap price. But that was it. They were lying in one corner when one day I just picked Poor Little Rich Slum and flipped the pages. My inspiration to buy this came when I visited Bombay in year 2010 for a bakchodi aka presentation contest. Once we landed at the airport and were driving towards the destination I saw a huge rather mammoth slum and thought wow!! These guys have serious balls if they can stay in this mess. Smile on their face made me confused.   Time filed by and the in year 2012 I w

Ken Robinson: Changing education paradigms: My take

Image
I was walking on Sukhna lake, Chandigarh   one day with my friends RD and AS .As we were talking about life, love and chicks as usual. Suddenly the intellectual monk in RD came alive and he enlightened us with a person called Sir. Ken Robinson and one off his top ten speeches of TED where he says that current education system is focused on industrial revolution and is junk. This statement made a impact in my mind. I came home, got involved in the mundane stuff. One day my subconscious mind told me to watch the TED Video. I goggled it, I saw it and decided that it should be on my blog. So here it is. From the very moment video starts it will grab your attention. A plain white canvas with screeching sound of pen and wonderful imagination. I loved the moment when he says that the education system divides people broadly into 2 category   successful and unsuccessful the latter being fellows who are not good in academics and they think forever in their life that if I had studied well

The Other Wes Moore:One name and two fates Do you have the answer??

“When it is time for you to leave this school, leave your job, or even leave this earth, you make sure you have worked hard to make sure it mattered you were even here.”  I was thinking deep when I finished reading this book. I tried to answer the question but I couldn’t figure out the right answer. I wonder whether there is a right answer or not.  Flashback:  A month back I was strolling in my workplace. I took it as excuse as I was tired by sitting and wanted to take doses of vitamin she. So as a predator I hunted in the wild jungle and my eyes socket were looking for a pretty prey who can  recharge my eye balls who were tired by looking at the dull computer screen for long time. During this strategic planning I met another hunter, Kunal Pundir and I stated doing some chit-shit chat with him. He told me there is a book called The other Wes Moore: One name and two fates and gave me a brief introduction about it. I watched the rating on Amazon and I thought lets go

Priceless Dilbert Principle: Change, budgeting, ISO 9000 and other Fads

I first posted about Dilbert around 1.5 year back @ http://goo.gl/mHVKP on my blog.  Time flied like a Phantom Fart ,no one knew where it came from but left a smell which fades away slowly. I wrote it  back in college where I pulled out the innocent looking book from library shelve with title The Joy of Work : Dilbert’s Guide to Finding Happiness at the Expense of Your Co-Workers and now I am trying to write about my thoughts on his other book   The Dilbert Principle . Wait before going further let me try to explain why I respect Dilbert. I have quoted 2 snippets from the book below:- Somewhere between the hallucinations of senior management and the cold reality of the market lies something called a business plan. There are two major steps to building a business plan:- Gather Information Ignore It Total work equation Real Work+ Appearance of Work=Total Work Bruuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! The simplicity in which Scott Adams, author of Dilbert stitches stupidi

The Unforgiving Minute: Encore Encore-

“If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!” -Rudyard Kipling In my previous posts ( http://tinyurl.com/8y8gdyf ) I have expressed my inclination towards war literature.  But my urge to read more about it never finishes. So once I saw rating of this Epic written by CRAIG M. MULLANEY on Amazon I was interested to get my hands on it. A hard bounded edition over 370 pages is indeed a saga of virtue, valor and victory \0/. Craig’s story is honest to the core and redefines the true spirit of courage and leadership.  It shows the camaraderie between men living in toughest of conditions which forms the basis of brotherhood and “Hand grenade effect” ( http://tinyurl.com/8y8gdyf ). Entire book is divided into three parts “Students”, “Soldier” and “Veteran”  and each takes you towards the preparation of author for the ultimate lit
