Varanasi Through My eyes: City of Lord Shiva and Holy Ganges

Image
It was the month of January. I was watching may be Discovery Channel or History TV .They were running a episode of Varanasi a.k.a Kashi. I must confess I am not a big fan of travel shows but somehow I was glued to the episode. I was enticed when they said you don’t go to Kashi, Kashi calls you.   Also they explained about Manikarnika Ghat which is cremation ghat. It is believed those who die/cremated in Kashi receive the “Moksha” and they leave the cycle of death and birth. In March my cousin was engaged and I told him that now I will go to Kashi to wash all my Sin’s. Somehow I used to say this a lot and I never knew this will come true.  Day 1 My Joruney in Ferozepur  came to a sudden halt and without wasting much time we booked the hotel/train tickets and were ready for Kashi. Chandigarh Railway Station   Train was 4 hours late and we were in our hotel at   9:30 PM .  The next day we went for Somanath Temple and witnesse...

Amazon service in India: From a bibliophiles perspective

When Amazon was about to launch in India I was very excited. Earlier I had bought stuff from Flipkart and was waiting for the international e-commerce giant to come to India. Usually I buy books and lot of them. They have extensive catalogue of books and a superb search mechanism. Till this date I have ordered lots of stuff from Amazon, I will share the pro's and cons which I felt. Pros Great collection of books. You can read reviews of books which are on amazon.com as well to get a hang of what international audience thinks.  Nice mobile app and speedy website.  Brilliant customer support as of now. You tweet them /give them a call they are prompt to reply.Educated customer representatives are there. Once I ordered nexus tablet 2012. I remembered on product detail page they have written head-phones in the box but when tablet arrived it didn't have one. So I called their support staff, they were prompt to reply and refunded INR 800 to me. No strings attached...

My journey with stupid boss/cool colleagues and colossal mmmy g!!

It was the year 2013. I didn’t have a job for more than 9 months. I went for more than 20 interviews and got rejected. I was disappointed. Then one of my friends referred me to the company situated in IT Park. I went there, one of the senior guy  chit chatted me for some time, in the end told me to wait outside. The HR came in and said I was selected. Now I felt now, it’s done. Finally peace. I went outside started my bike and suddenly a number flashed on my mobile. I received the call and I was told I was being called by the guy who took my interview. I went there to meet him, he introduced me to a programmer, said just study a url you will be given and then come back on joining as it will be your first assignment. I never knew that this innocent looking guy will rock the houseboat upside down for me in the coming future and that’s how it all started. On my very first day I remember we were only 4  people in bay. I took the last seat in the row I which I called sniper pos...

My Journey in Ferozepur

Image
As I am about to write this after a long time sitting in the most unexpected places, I look back and smile. I have worked across weasels in Chandigarh ,Noida, Gurgaon & Ludhiana but I never knew I will be given a chance to work in Ferozepur as well. For the first time readers, Ferozepur is 230 KM away from Chandigarh, where I was born. The city has a history of it’s own and boast places like Hussaini-Wala border, Barki and a key-position for Indian Army and their area is marked as Ferozepur-Cantt. You go 10 KM from here and you can see border of Pakistan on the banks of Satluj. I wish I could export all my evil bosses over there. Within radius of 5 KM you can watch the entire town. Things which I like are:- Vigour!! Valour !! Victory!! Jai Hind I wish I could hang all evil bosses to tree behind selfie Non Congested Roads :-  Traffic density is really low and you dont lose your’ nerve while standing on the red lights. Oh, I forgot to mention standing on li...

Amarnath Yatra: Stop thinking start feeling

Image
I was eager   to write about my experience of Amarnath yatra   for a long time. It’s been around 9 months since, I have been there and finally I am trying to pen down my thoughts.   I won’t go into much of my journey details except for the fact that we did go in a chopper which cut shorts your time of journey by 12 Km as compared to foot travel which is 18 km from Baal taal . Once you begin the   journey and stand in middle of mountains it’s altogether a different feeling. Weather changes with wave of a hand. Travelling roads are les than a meter wide for both ways traffic with steep fall on one end.   It took us 6 hours to travel 6 km and we were tired as we were about to reach the cave. Now comes the interesting part.   Once you are inside the cave and you hear the chanting of “om” by other devotees there is a electric surge which goes down your spine and revitalizes your spirit. The experience is something which can only be felt and the...

Art and Science of Public Farting. Become a Fart Warrior: -

Fart is associated with mankind even before the wheel was invented. No one knows how many farts were emitted before the invention or after the invention and made their way into troposphere , Stratosphere and so on.   I hope some lucky farts even made their way into Exosphere and even went to meet some aliens.  A research has proved that every second thirty million people are farting across the globe. Gee, I am just kidding, though it could be true.   Lot of things have been said about other topics like Art of War( a famous book), Is marketing Art of Science (Philip Kotler) etc. but nothing has been written about understanding human psychology when they fart.  Believe me nothing gives man/women more pleasure than releasing a fart which they are holding and refusing to let go as they are ashamed as they are surrounded by other people. Fart warriors are those who can fart in group of people and can stay calm and say ‘Why are you looking at me? What happen...
